Red Rocks

$1,320.00

This painting was inspired by the red rock of Colorado. Looking closely, you will notice that the rocks are not a true red, but rather, yellow, blue and purple. My goal is to have the viewer see something in my artwork that they normally wouldn't see. Looking closely at the red rocks, you'll find more than the color red.

I used Daniel Smith Primatek paints for the rocks. The only color that is not Primatek are the yellows as I don’t think Daniel Smith has a yellow Primatek paint. Their Primatek paints are ground from actual minerals. In this painting, I have used paints ground from turquoise, piemontite, and garnet.

If you are looking for a painting where you can get lost looking at it, this is the painting for you. I hope this painting resonates with you and finds a home with you.
