As I continue to work with watercolor "ground", a viscous medium typically used to correct mistakes, I came up with the idea of dipping string, or rope, in the ground and laying that across a sheet of watercolor paper. This idea had been rattling around in my head for several weeks and I finally found the time to create the first one, simply called "String Art 1."

String Art 3 is the third in a collection I used the watercolor ground called Pearlescent White against a red background. That color is called Bordeaux. This collection is designed to be hung together, either two at a time or all four. It would make a very dramatic statement if all four were hung together.
