String Art 4
String Art 4
As I continue to work with watercolor "ground", a viscous medium typically used to correct mistakes, I came up with the idea of dipping string, or rope, in the ground and laying that across a sheet of watercolor paper. This idea had been rattling around in my head for several weeks and I finally found the time to create the first one, simply called "String Art 1."
For String Art 4, I used Pearlescent White with a pink background. In this case, I used the color Quinacridone Pink. The Quinacridone watercolor paints are mixed in such a way that catches the eye is a very pleasing way. I'm not sure exactly how they do that but the quinacridone paints are some of my favorites. I chose these colors purposefully because they look good together. All four paintings, if hung together, will complement each other nicely, or just two together will look nice.
