I have lived in Nevada now for a little over 2 years. Living here has made me appreciate the landscape here as well as the warm colors. Aspen trees have especially intrigued me, especially since I had never seen them in person until I moved here. Looking at them in Autumn, I saw at least three different shades of yellow. So, I used a Winsor, Yellow, Quinacridone Gold, and Nickel Azo as the main three yellow in this painting. The yellow plays nicely against the cobalt blue sky.

I felt that these trees were a must in my painting collection.
